CAPITAL COOKS
Capital Cooks is a partnership between the chefs and management of Different Drummer’s Kitchen in Stuyvesant Plaza. When that store closed, we decided to open our own cooking school, and we’ll be opening on July 31 with our first kid’s camp. Our new cooking school is conveniently located in the Village of Colonie, just off of Central Avenue. Capital Cooks provides a safe, fun place for children to cook, eat, make friends and have a ton of fun. Classes for kids are Monday through Friday, and each offers the choice of a three-day, two-day or five-day week. Camp goes from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Classes are appropriate for 8-12 year olds. Our experienced chefs love kids, love to cook and love to share their knowledge with people of all ages. Menus include Holiday Favorites, Cooking Around the World, Rainbow of Colors and Breakfast for Dinner. Expect to learn about each food that will be prepared in a hands-on cooking environment, and be well-fed each day. Our beautiful new school is located at 12 Walker Way, Colonie, NY, 12205. Questions? CATSKILL EQUESTRIAN CENTER
Summer horseback riding camp registration is now open! Open to ages 7 years and up, no experience required. Riding lessons are available 7 days a week by appointment. We also offer mommy & me classes, pony club, after school programs, spring break camp, and so much more!
CATSKILL MOUNTAIN RAILROAD
Take a ride on the Catskill Mountain Railroad’s Catskill Flyer Fridays, Saturdays and on the Ice Cream Sunday’s Train on every Sunday. On Fridays and Saturdays see the natural beauty of the Catskills from our railroad’s unique perspective aboard the Catskill Flyer and enjoy on the trip in our coaches or on our open air flat cars for the ultimate views on the ride. On Sundays, passengers get the same great ride and an Ice Cream to enjoy on the trip. Join us as we travel through some of the oldest farmlands in the United States where we will cross the Esopus Creek as we travel through the Hurley Flats and then start the climb up Hurley Mountain.
Catskill Flyer Trains on Fridays and Saturdays leave at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Ticket prices are Adults $17.00, Adult Discount (Seniors/Military/Veteran) $16.00, and Children $11.00, Children under 2 ride on the lap free with paid adult fare.
Ice Cream Sunday Trains on Sundays Leave at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Ticket prices are Adults $22.00, Adult Discount (Seniors/Military/Veteran) $20.00, and Children $16.00, Children under 2 ride on the lap free with paid adult fare. An adult must accompany all children. The train rides are approximately 90 minutes long.
All trains are round trip from the Westbrook Lane Station located in the Kingston Plaza adjacent to Uptown Kingston’s Historic Stockade District. The Catskill Flyer with Ice Cream Sundays operates every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday May 27th thorough September 17th , 2023.
