Have you registered your child for the summer reading program at your local library? Many programs kick off the week of June 27th and some are having kickoff events to celebrate the start of their summer reading programs! Below are just a few of the fun events planned at local libraries in the Capital District!

Summer Reading Kickoff Carnival
Location: Colonie Library
Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 4pm-7pm
Start your summer at our Kickoff Carnival and sign up for our summer reading challenge on Day One!!  Enjoy face painters, a DJ, balloon artists, pony rides and farm animals, relay races, and carnival games. Pizza slices and popcorn will be available to purchase, or bring a picnic dinner with a blanket/chairs for you and your family. Free and fun for all ages! Registration is required.

Summer Reading Program 2022 Kick Off!
Location: Guilderland Public Library
Wednesday, June 29, 2022 
Register to pick up your family’s beach bag full goodies and, of course, SRP information. There is a limit of one bag per family. Stop by anytime between 10am-1pm or 3pm-7pm.

Be amazed with a bubble volcano, a bubble roller coaster, and a kid in a bubble. It’s the craziest, most creative bubble show around. Jeff juggles bubbles, sculpts and builds with bubbles, makes fog-filled bubbles and more. Mixing comedy, music, and interactive bubble magic, Jeff engages and delights audiences of all ages with a sensory-friendly bubble extravaganza for the whole family. Aquatic Wonders with Via Aquarium: Summer Reading Kickoff at Delaware
Albany Public Library/Delaware Branch
Thursday, June 30, 2022
Come join the staff of Via Aquarium as they talk about a host of fun aquatic invertebrate animals and discuss ocean ecology and conservation! This hour-long program will include a hands-on opportunity to touch various live sea creatures, as well as a Q&A session at the end for questions related to marine biology, working at an aquarium, or anything ocean related.
