Summer Artful Mornings at the Albany Institute of History & Art offer engaging, museum-based art programs for children ages 6–12, held throughout August. Each week explores a different theme—ranging from nature and light to local history and play—through close looking at works in the galleries and hands-on artmaking inspired by the Institute’s collections, including Ancient Egypt and the Hudson River School. Programs encourage creativity, critical thinking, and storytelling in a supportive, small-group setting led by experienced museum educators. GOLDFISH SWIM SCHOOL
Everybody in the pool! Goldfish Swim School (with locations in Clifton Park and Colonie) provides swim instruction to children ages 4 months to 12-years-old in a unique setting with highly trained instructors, small class sizes (max 4:1 student to teacher ratio), shiver-free 90-degree pools, and a state-of-the-art water purification system.
In addition to weekly swim lessons, Goldfish Swim School also offers Jump Start Clinics during the summer months. This is our version of swim camp! Jump Start Clinics are five consecutive days of 30-minute swim lessons that focus on everything from the fundamentals of water safety to fine-tuning stroke technique. Students make a month’s worth of progress in just a week!

LEGENDARY FOOTBALL CAMP
Legendary Sports Training is bringing Football Camps to the Capital Region. Summer Circus Arts @SHAC is a flexible nine-week program for ages 7–17, running from late June through August. Each week follows a consistent daily structure with rotating movement and creative studios, while introducing a new theme to keep sessions fresh and engaging; campers can attend one or multiple weeks with no prior experience required. Registration is now open for our third annual Summer Trumpet Institute and our fourth annual Summer Trombone Institute at the SUNY Schenectady School of Music for middle school and high school students ages 11-18 the week of July 13-16 from 9am-4pm. The 4-day institutes will provide students with an educational laboratory to learn, play, and listen, including small and large coached rehearsals, masterclasses, jam sessions, musicianship classes, and concerts! Our trumpet institute director and trumpet professor/band director Dr. Allyson Keyser is joined by jazz professor Dylan Canterbury, Dr. Nikola Tomić from SUNY Fredonia, and special guest artist and composer Dr. Jennifer Oliverio. Our low brass professor Phil Pandori is joined by fellow freelance musicians and members of the Stockade Trombone Quartet, as well as guest artist Ron Barron. All brass students are welcome, and the institutes are also open to teachers who would like to audit the session for professional development.
