Where are you originally from? How long have you lived in the Capital District for?
I grew up in Massachusetts, but spent most of my adult life living in New York City. I moved to the Capital District two years ago when I found out I was expecting my son.
How many children do you have and what are their age (s)?
I have one son Barrett who is 18 months old.
What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I focused most of my time on politics before my career in massage therapy. Twelve years ago I would have thought I’d be in Washington DC by now!
Anyone special you would like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
Definitely our parents! We wouldn’t have made it without their help!
I’ve also gained a lot through local moms groups on social media. They have helped me to meet other moms, get to know the Capital District and get me through those middle of the night parenting dilemmas!
Favorite thing to do with your son?
I love going for little walks around my neighborhood and exploring the outdoors. Children are sponges. I love watching my son take everything in and learn about the world around him.
Tell us a little bit about Maternal Medical Massage:
Family Care Massage (formerly Maternal Medical Massage) is my own medical massage therapy business. We specialize in Prenatal & Postpartum Care and Orthopedic Injury & Sports Maintenance, but can accommodate the whole family. I’m very grateful that the business has already taken off in the two years that I’ve been in the Capital District. We recently upgraded our facility to accommodate our growing staff. As a mom, I know how much other moms and their families need support. I find it incredibly rewarding to help others live happier and healthier lives.
