This three-week-long writing bootcamp is designed to help young writers sharpen their skills, build confidence, and discover the joy of storytelling. Who is Letterly?
Letterly is an innovative EdTech writing startup dedicated to fostering strong writing skills in students of all ages. Based out of Saratoga Springs, Letterly was founded with the mission of helping young writers develop and share their voices through long-form writing. Leading the way is founder and CEO Jane Chen, an educator and entrepreneur who has been an active force in the Saratoga community for over five years.
Why The Journal?
Every summer, The Journal is Letterly’s most sought-after program, and for good reason. Designed for students who love to write—or those who want to strengthen their writing skills—this bootcamp provides daily guided reading and writing prompts, expert feedback, and a supportive online community. Over the course of three weeks, students:
- Log in to their Letterly portal each day to receive engaging reading assignments.
- Choose from carefully crafted writing prompts to inspire their reflections and creativity.
- Submit their work for editorial feedback and revision guidance.
- Participate in weekly tutor meetings for extra support and motivation.
- Have the opportunity to publish their best pieces in Letterly’s student journal.
A Special Opportunity: Publishing in The Journal
One of the most special aspects of The Journal is the opportunity for students to see their work published. Nothing builds confidence like knowing your writing has been read and appreciated by others. To date, Letterly has published over 15,000 student articles in our online journal, which can be explored at https://journal.letterly.io. This platform allows students to celebrate their growth and achievements while sharing their voices with the world.
