Swap instead of shop! This is recycling at its most fun! Here’s how it works:
- Costumes (all sizes: infant to adult) will be accepted in the Children’s room 9/30 – 10/11.
- For each complete, clean, gently worn costume, you will receive 1 swap ticket to claim a new-to-you costume at this event on Saturday, October 12 from noon – 2pm.
- No guarantee of fit or selection.
- Not interested in receiving a swap ticket? Donations of additional costumes will also be accepted!
“[Ages 11-17] Every Wednesday in September and October, come get your cosplay on! Using our sewing machines, hot glue, tools, and a wide range of materials and fabrics, participants can make costumes for upcoming conventions and fairies, Halloween, or anything else! We will make armor, props, and costumes for manga/anime/videogame characters, superheroes and more. Registration is required: please register online, in person at any branch or by calling (518) 472-0485.”
Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 2:30-4:45pm
Howe Branch (Albany Public Library)
“(All ages) Come to the Howe Branch and trade in your old Halloween costumes for new ones! We will have costumes here and will also be accepting donations and swaps of clean, gently worn ones, sizes infant to adult. Any donations are appreciated, and can be dropped off in advance or during the event at the Howe Branch. Children do not need to bring a costume in order to take one; one costume per child. We cannot guarantee costume selection and sizes; first come, first served. All are welcome!”
